The Double and Joint Degree Programs at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS) are designed to offer students an exceptional international academic experience through integrated learning and collaboration with reputable overseas partner universities. These initiatives aim to strengthen global competence, foster research collaboration, and prepare students for professional success in an increasingly interconnected world.
The Double Degree Program allows students to obtain two academic degrees which are one from MUS and another from a partner university abroad through a well-structured study plan. At MUS, this program is available in the Departments of Informatics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering, in partnership with St. John’s University, Taiwan, and Yuan Ze University, Taiwan. Depending on the program structure, students may follow a three-plus-one or two-plus-two study scheme, beginning their studies at MUS and completing the remaining credits at the partner university.
The Joint Degree Program focuses on shared academic responsibilities and collaborative curriculum design between MUS and its international partners. This program is currently offered in Informatics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Students are guided by supervisors from both universities and complete a curriculum that integrates academic strengths from each institution. Upon graduation, they receive a single degree jointly conferred by MUS and the partner university.
Through these programs, MUS continues to advance its internationalization efforts by providing students with opportunities to experience global education, engage in cross-cultural exchange, and participate in collaborative research.
