Darmasiswa MUS
Darmasiswa
The Darmasiswa Program is a fully funded, non-degree scholarship scheme administered by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud) under its Higher Education and Student Affairs portfolio. This program enables foreign nationals to immerse themselves in Bahasa Indonesia, arts, culture, and local traditions at host Indonesian universities for a period of study (typically six months to one year). All standard costs including tuition or course fees, accommodation, living allowance, and cultural activities are covered under the scholarship. The application for the Darmasiswa Program is made annually via the official platform under the Belmawa system. (link ke darmasiswa https://apply.darmasiswa.kemdikbud.go.id/ )
Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS) has been a participating host institution since 2013, welcoming Darmasiswa students from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Over the years, MUS has graduated more than 100 Darmasiswa alumni from countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Sudan, Mali, Taiwan, the United States, and more. The Darmasiswa cohort at MUS engages in BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers) instruction, cultural immersion programs, art and traditional crafts workshops, local community visits, and cross-cultural dialogues. Through this program, MUS helps participants deepen their linguistic ability, cultural understanding, and global networks while serving as ambassadors of Indonesian culture in their home countries.
