Fulltime Student

A Full-time Student at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS) is a learner who is officially enrolled in a full study program and completes a standard academic load as determined by university regulations. Full-time students pursue their studies as their primary academic commitment and are expected to fulfill all curricular, research, and community engagement requirements within the designated study period. At MUS, undergraduate programs are typically completed within 8 to 10 semesters, master’s programs within 4 to 8 semesters, and doctoral programs within 6 to 12 semesters. Full-time students actively participate in on-campus and off-campus academic activities, including lectures, practicums, research projects, and international collaboration programs, reflecting MUS’s commitment to excellence in morality, intellect, and entrepreneurship.

Part-Time Student

A Part-time Student at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS) refers to a student enrolled at another university who temporarily joins MUS through short-term international programs, such as Summer Courses, Short Courses, Credit Transfer Programs, or Global Mobility initiatives offered by the university’s academic departments. These students engage in selected courses, cultural exchanges, or collaborative projects to gain academic experience, credit transfer opportunities, and global exposure without completing a full degree program at MUS. Part-time students contribute to the international learning environment by sharing diverse academic perspectives and cultural insights, fostering cross-border collaboration and mutual understanding within the MUS academic community.

International Student Admission and Scholarship Selection Process To ensure that the scholarship recipients meet the academic and administrative standards of Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS), all international applicants will go through a two-stage selection process as outlined below:
a. Document Screening Stage
At this stage, all submitted documents will be carefully reviewed to ensure compliance with the eligibility criteria for international scholarship applicants. The academic qualification requirements are as follows:
1. Undergraduate (Bachelor’s/Diploma) Program: Graduated from a senior high school or equivalent and holds a valid certificate.
2. Master’s Program: Holds a bachelor’s degree with satisfactory academic performance.
3. Doctoral Program: Holds a master’s degree with satisfactory academic performance.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents during registration:
1. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
2. Copy of diploma and academic transcript.
3. Copy of a valid passport (valid throughout the study period).
4. Proof of not being under “VISA Calling” status.
5. Statement letter of financial capability to support study and living expenses in Indonesia.
6. Statement of compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations during the study period.
7. Statement of non-employment, declaring that the applicant will not engage in any form of employment while studying in Indonesia.
8. Recent photographs (4 pieces of 4x6 cm and 4 pieces of 3x4 cm, red background).
9. Medical certificate or health report issued by an accredited hospital.

b. Interview Stage
In this stage, shortlisted international applicants will be invited to an online or onsite interview conducted by the Office of International Affairs (Lembaga Kerjasama dan Internasional – LKI) in coordination with the Faculty Dean and the Head of the intended study program. The interview aims to assess the applicant’s motivation, communication skills, and overall eligibility as a scholarship recipient at Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (MUS).
