On January 15, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya conducted an official visit to Badan Riset dan Inovasi Daerah (BRIDA) Kota Surabaya to strengthen coordination and collaboration in the fields of research and innovation.
The visit aimed to discuss the synchronization of research, development, scientific assessment, as well as sustainable invention and innovation programs. The delegation was led by the Vice Rector IV and accompanied by representatives from the Office of Cooperation and Internationalization (LKI), the Institute for Research, Innovation, and Community Service (LRIPM), and the Legal Services Office (LLH), demonstrating an integrated institutional commitment.
During the discussion, both institutions explored potential joint research initiatives aligned with regional development priorities, strategies for strengthening innovation ecosystems, and mechanisms for intellectual property protection and utilization. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that academic research outcomes contribute directly to evidence-based policymaking and community development in Surabaya.
This meeting marks a strategic step toward building sustainable partnerships between higher education and regional government institutions, reinforcing UM Surabaya’s commitment to impactful research and innovation.
