LUMAJANG, April 24, 2026 – International students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UMSURA) visited the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah (PDM) Lumajang to broaden their understanding of Islamic values while experiencing local culture firsthand.

The activity, themed “International Student Visit & Cultural Immersion: Experiencing Local Culture of Lumajang,” was conducted in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. The event opened with remarks from the Head of PDM Lumajang, who expressed appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm in learning about Muhammadiyah’s da’wah dynamics at the regional level.

As part of supporting literacy, participants also received a book on Muhammadiyah in Lumajang, which contains its history, values, and development in the region.

During the seminar session, representatives of PDM Lumajang presented the organizational structure of Muhammadiyah, from the regional level down to local branches. This explanation provided insights into how leadership systems and da’wah movements are carried out in a structured and sustainable manner.

In addition, participants were introduced to various Muhammadiyah Business Charities (Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah / AUM) in Lumajang. These include Muhammadiyah schools across different educational levels, hospitals that serve as community healthcare providers, and other social facilities that support public welfare. The presence of these AUM institutions demonstrates that Muhammadiyah’s da’wah is implemented through tangible contributions in education, healthcare, and social sectors.

This visit became a valuable experience for the international students. In addition to learning about local culture, they were also able to witness firsthand the practice of Muhammadiyah values in community life.

The activity concluded with a friendly gathering session and a group photo, reflecting cross-cultural harmony in the spirit of the Muhammadiyah movement.
