The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya organized a Sharing Session on February 13 to introduce and strengthen students’ understanding of the Double Degree Scholarship program in collaboration with St. John's University, Taiwan.

The event was attended by lecturers, academic staff, and students who are interested in pursuing international study opportunities. A total of 15 selected students who successfully passed the program selection shared their journeys—from the initial registration process, document preparation, and academic requirements, to interviews, visa applications, and final departure preparations.

During the session, the students openly discussed the challenges they encountered, including language readiness, adapting to administrative procedures, and managing time between academic responsibilities and scholarship requirements. They also shared practical tips on preparing motivation letters, strengthening academic portfolios, and improving English proficiency to meet international standards.

The session became an interactive forum, with participants actively asking questions about scholarship coverage, living costs in Taiwan, campus life, and academic systems. The experience-sharing not only provided technical guidance but also inspired other students to step out of their comfort zones and pursue global academic exposure.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Engineering reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international collaboration and encouraging students to take part in double degree programs. The initiative is expected to produce graduates with strong global perspectives, intercultural competence, and competitive advantages in the international workforce.
